Exchange Place Living History Farm, 4812 Orebank Road in Kingsport, will hold its 54th annual Fall Folk Arts Festival on Saturday, September 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, September 27, from 12 noon to 5 p.m. This celebration of traditional arts and crafts and the harvest season will feature artisans demonstrating and selling a wide array of heritage folk arts, along with autumn plants and seasonal crafts. The festival will also offer demonstrations of harvest time activities on an 1850s farm such as sorghum making, blacksmithing, spinning and weaving, and hearthside cooking as well as old timey foods, music, and children's activities.  For more information, 423-288-6071 or epfestivals.gf@gmail.com. https://exchangeplacetn.org/

The Reece Museum presents Window into the Soul: The Work of Amanda Renfrow, an exhibition featuring the stained glass work by local artist Amanda Renfrow.

Window into the Soul, showcasing twenty-five stained-glass works by Renfrow, offers a retrospective of her eight-year practice. A native of Oklahoma, Renfrow moved to Appalachia in 2018 and began her artistic practice in glass. Starting as an apprentice to Steve Cook, a renowned glass artist in Jonesborough, Renfrow has since gained notoriety, with work frequently exhibited and housed in private and public collections, including the Reece Museum Permanent Collection.

"This exhibition brings together works that trace my artistic development from the smallest butterfly to the largest sun, reflecting the evolution of my approach over time,” says Renfrow.

UPCOMING Northeast Tennessee MASTER GARDENER CLASS
We all want to share our love of gardening.

The Northeast Master Gardener Association (NETMGA) membership includes volunteers from Hawkins, Sullivan, Washington, Carter, Johnson, and Unicoi Counties. Their many activities include information booths at various home and farm shows, answering Ask-a-Master Gardener questions, teaching classes in the community, and organizing new Master Gardener classes. Their presence can be seen in many local historic site gardens, demonstration gardens and community vegetable gardens.

A new Master Gardener class will begin January 28, 2025, and go through April 29, 2025. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Classes are available for the surrounding communities' participants and are held at the Sullivan County, Ron Ramsey Agricultural Center located at 140 Spurgeon Lane, Blountville, TN.
