Gilliam Center for the Arts Black Box Theater, The University of Virginia's College at Wise
07:00 PM - 08:30 PM on Thu, 1 May 2025
Acclaimed multi-instrumentalist, composer, and genre-defying artist Julius Rodriguez is set to take the stage for an unforgettable performance on Thursday, May 1st at 7 p.m. in the Gilliam Center for the Arts Black Box Theater at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. Known for his seamless blend of jazz, hip-hop, R&B, and gospel, Rodriguez continues to transcend perceived boundaries between genres and styles, redefining music to mirror his own fluid creative inclinations, and delivering a sound that's his alone. Rodriguez will perform alongside saxophonist Emilio Modeste, bassist Brandon Rose, and drummer Jaylen Petinaud—each bringing their unique artistry and energy to the stage.
The concert is free and open to the public and brought to you by the Pro-Art Association in partnership with UVA Wise and in conjunction with the W. Campbell Edmonds and Clinch Valley Concert Series. Following the performance, audience members are invited to stay for an intimate Q&A session with Julius Rodriguez and his band, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their creative process and musical journey. Reservations are encouraged as venue seating is limited. For more information and to make reservations, please visit proartva.org.
