In addition to all-day gaming, the store will have special gift bags for purchase, chances to win free prizes, and more!
Doors open at 10 a.m. Join us at 1409 W Market Street, right across from Aldi. Just look for the sign that says "GAMES" above the door! For more information, visit us on social media at Old Black Mountain Games and Toys.
June 21st is the first day of summer, a time when kids are playing at friends or relatives houses. We ask about pets and allergies. Now we encourage adding one more question. "Is there an unlocked gun where my children play?" It's a simple question that can save a child's life. We will discuss how to initiate these conversations.
Join us for an impactful morning dedicated to raising awareness and providing life- saving information about the importance of secure firearm storage. Learn about evidenced-based approaches to youth suicide and local resources for families and children in crisis.
Our speakers are Dr. Michael Allshouse, pediatric surgeon with ETSU Health and professor at ETSU and Torrie Dreier, the Community Engagement Partnership Coordinator, Suicide Prevention Team, James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Firearms are the leading cause of death for children in our country and in TN. We are not about taking peoples' guns away, and we recognize there are many responsible gun owners who keep their weapons locked and unloaded. But the facts, according to Brady, are that every day 8 children and teens are unintentionally injured or killed by a shooting resulting from someone misusing an unsecured firearm from the home.
This ASK Day event is free and we will give free gun locks to anyone wanting them.
