ETSU Department of Art & Design and the Reece Museum present the “Spring 2025 BFA Senior Exhibition.” The exhibition is on display from April 14 to May 23 at the Reece Museum, featuring the work of five Bachelor of Fine Art students: Adrian Crawford, Hazel Grandy, Sarah Grider, Bri Hagy, and Audrey Holladay. A reception will be held on Thursday, April 17 from 5 to 7 pm at the Reece Museum.
Join local design professionals and scientists from ETSU in a day-long workshop focused on Hurricane Helene and other recent natural disasters impacting northeast Tennessee and our surrounding region. We’ll review factors of risk and discuss climate trends that have and will impact the health, welfare and safety of our local communities. Maps and data will be shared for 6 counties (Washington, Cocke, Unicoi, Carter, Greene, and Johnson) that were severely affected by Hurricane Helene and are participating in a coordinated long-term recovery effort. This event is a unique opportunity for citizens, professionals, local government, and county Long-Term Recovery Group members to come together, share information, and engage in unified planning towards regional resilience in northeast Tennessee.
Blending soulful blues rock, New Orleans funk, and jazz fusion into a style all their own, The Jason Cale Band will perform on Saturday, May 17th at 6 p.m. at Big Glades Amphitheater in downtown Wise in conjunction with Pro-Art's W. Campbell Edmonds Concert Series. The concert is free and open to the public and brought to you in partnership with the Town of Wise.
Full of heart and soul, the music is inspired by the fearless musical offerings of the late 60's and early 70's. The band hails from Virginia Beach, but has taken the show on the road, touring nationally and internationally, performing at venues of all sizes and conducting masterclasses and workshops at conservatories and schools around the world. The Jason Cale Band is Ed Williams on drums, Jason Cale on vocals/guitar, Jeffrey Saunders on sax, and Donnell Smith and Jacques Jones on bass.
