Edgewood Cottage opens its doors every summer to welcome local juried artists. Each artist shows, tells and sells his/her art to visitors from near and far. In the last years, visitors have come from three different countries and 30 states to enjoy outstanding local art. Come join them! Two artists share the Cottage this week.

Jack Hamrick works in oils. Art history, nature and fellow artists inspire Jack’s vividly expressive paintings, many motivated by the Appalachian mountains. Having painted all around the world, Jack finds western North Carolina’s High Country to be the perfect muse by which to paint and live.

For JoAnn Pippin, watercolorist, painting allows her to escape from everyday stress into a thoroughly focused, creative state of mind. JoAnn paints exclusively in watercolor because she loves interacting with the transparency and spontaneous color-mixing that watercolor allows.
