Johnson City Railroad Experience, in conjunction with the Mountain Empire ModelRailroaders, are bringing the Big Train Show back to the East Tennessee State University campus in the Mini-Dome.
Back for the 10th year is the Big Train Show, produced by the Johnson City RailroadExperience (JCRE) and the Mountain Empire Model Railroaders (MEMRR). The JCRE andMEMRR will be hosting a slew of vendors and travelling modules at the Mini-Dome for model railroaders and train enthusiasts alike.
Located on the East Tennessee State University (ETSU) campus, the Big Train Showwill take place in the Mini-Dome on Friday, May 29th from 12:00PM-6:00PM and Saturday, May 30th from 10:00AM-4:00PM. Over 80 vendors with over 300 tables will be selling model trains, books, clothing, and so much more! In addition, there will be operating model train layouts in several scales, including live-stream and a HO-Scale layout covering 15,000 square feet of floor space!
General Admission tickets will be available for $10 each and children 10 & under will befree. Combo tickets for the show and the Johnson City Railroad Experience will also beavailable for $17. Tickets can only be bought day-of the event.
About Johnson City Railroad Experience:Beginning as a small club and museum titled, “George L. Carter Railroad Museum”, onthe East Tennessee State University campus in 2007, the Johnson City Railroad Experiencehas grown into a multi-layout, multi-exhibit museum! The Johnson City Railroad Experience is a non-profit dedicated to sharing the history of railroads in the Johnson City area.

Are you an amateur radio operator? Or perhaps you have always been interested and would like to learn more, now is your chance.
The Northeast Tennessee Radio Community (NETNRC) is holding a Hamfest at the Armory in Erwin Tennessee on August 29th between 8am and 1pm. Whether you are a licensed HAM, talk on GMRS, hang out on citizen band, or are just curious, you are welcome.
There will be vendors set up, tailgating, food, and plenty of opportunities to socialize and learn more about this fun and exciting hobby. Admission is $10 per person and there will be drawings for door prizes.
We are a newly formed community of radio operators interested in promoting radio communications of all kinds and helping the community learn more about amateur radio.
