StoryTown Radio Show: Ode to the First Responders
Listen to tales of bravery and give thanks to those who work to keep us safe at the latest edition of the StoryTown Radio Show on Monday, September 22nd at 7:00 pm at the McKinney Center.
StoryTown performs in the format of a live, old-time radio show complete with sound effects, musical underscoring, live skits, and a great musical guest. This month’s show is titled “Ode to the First Responders.” We’ll be sharing stories of selfless bravery from Hurricane Helene and the local recovery efforts; rescue helicopter pilots, nurses, and more. Joining the cast this month are the David Crockett High School Madrigal Singers under the direction of Kelly Davenport. We’ll also have storyteller Jennifer Armstrong with us. Tickets are only $10 and available online at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423-753-1010.
The Radio Show is recorded for broadcast on local NPR station WETS 89.5 out of Johnson City, which can be heard the last Wednesday of the month at 8PM. StoryTown is sponsored by the Tennessee Arts Commission, Gary and Sandee Degner, Trivia with Budds, McLeod Organics, the Wild Women of Jonesborough, and Wolfe Development.
