Elk Knob Headwaters Community Day Festival

The Elk Knob Community Heritage Organization (EKCHO) announces that the 19th annual Headwaters Community Day Festival will return to Elk Knob State Park on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 from 11am to 3pm. The event is free and open to the public.

The Headwaters Community Day Festival is a gathering to celebrate the area’s unique culture and foodways. The activities start at 11am and include live music from the Dollar Brothers, Scottish Highland Dancers, the High Country Fiddle Orchestra, and Michael Stam and the Tamaracks with special guest Mary Greene. Local crafters, farmers, and other artisans will demonstrate their work throughout the day.

At noon, the High Country’s largest potluck dinner will be served, featuring dozens of local dishes. The public is encouraged to bring their own dish to share. “We always look forward to the great variety of food at the potluck dinner and to seeing old friends and new faces at the park,” says Ray Moretz, vice president of The Elk Knob Community Heritage Organization, the 501c(3) organization that sponsoring the festival in partnership with Elk Knob State Park.
