Barber Showcase: Battle at the Museum
Barber Showcase: Battle at the Museum
Please join the Reece Museum on Thursday, September 10, from 11 am to 1 pm for Barber Showcase: Battle at the Museum. The event is free and open to the public. Experience barbering like never before as two of the region's top barbers go head-to-head in a live haircut competition inside the Reece Museum. Hosted by a local rapper and MC SKYY G, this high-energy event blends music, creativity, and audience interaction while celebrating barbering as both a skilled craft and a cultural tradition. Featured barbers include Tony Holmes of Laced Up Kicks and Cuts (founder) and Anthony Cockrell Jr. of House of Fades Barbershop.
Between rounds, visitors will learn about the history of barbering, the evolution of the barbershop as a community gathering place, and the profession's lasting impact on American culture. Whether you're a fan of barbering, hip-hop, or local history, Battle at the Museum offers a one-of-a-kind museum experience where history comes alive through creativity and community.
