The first annual St. Paddy’s Day Celebration at the Virginia Ballroom will be held this Saturday in Historic Abingdon. The event will feature live music & dancing and a traditional Irish buffet prepared by Virginia Ballroom Chef Joe Lewellin. Green beer will also be available for sale. The first 100 guests will receive party favors. Doors open at 6 pm. At 6:30, SANDRA PARKER will sing and play traditional Irish ballads on Celtic Harp. At 7:30, VINNY RINGROSE & FRIENDS take to the stage - and you take to the dance floor! - for two hours filled with rousing renditions of Irish tunes, from jigs to reels to heart-wrenching ballads. Don't forget your dancing shoes!!! Traditional Irish dinner buffet, available from 6 to 7:30 p.m.m will feature Corned Beef & Cabbage (accompanied by red potatoes & carrots), Shepherd's Pie, Cock-a-Leekie Soup, Traditional Irish Salad (boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, watercress & sliced beets with special dressing), Soda Bread & Butter, and Bailey's Irish Creme Cake. Tea (sweet, unsweet), water and coffee (regular & decaf) will also be available. Cost is $25 per person, $45 per couple. GREEN BEER (of course!) will be available for sale at an additional charge.
