The Virginia Oil and Gas Association (VOGA) will host an open house focusing on Southwest Virginia’s natural gas resources, Tuesday from 6pm-8pm at Heartwood in Abingdon. The open house will feature five stations focusing on various aspects of the region’s natural gas development, including the history of natural gas; drilling processes; groundwater protection; hydraulic fracturing; and regulatory processes and permitting. The informal format of the event will allow people to drop by at any time during the two-hour event, to visit each station and to ask questions about the topics addressed at that station. Refreshments will be provided.
