Second Annual Chestnut Restoration Celebration Time to Bring IT Back! The local American Chestnut Restoration Branch is preparing to plant 500 American Chestnuts with advanced blight resistance in Southwest Virginia. We need help for this ambitious project from those interested in seeing this iconic tree retake its place in our local forests. The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) Restoration Branch will hold its Second Annual fund raising and educational celebration on April 30, 2011 at the Meadowview Price Research Farm. This year’s event will recruit volunteers to help in the planting of the 500 American chestnut seedlings. The event will also include tours of the Farm and research laboratory, live music by the Fire in the Kitchen band, a dinner catered by the Harvest Table, door prizes, and a fundraising auction. Tours and educational activities will start at 5:00 p.m. with the program and dinner starting at 6:00 p.m. Ticket information includes: • Adult: $55.00 (includes a TACF family membership, $40 value), • Spouse: $15 (for meal), • College Student (includes TACF membership) • Youth: 11 years and older: $10, 10 and under: free Tickets purchased before April 24 will receive a $5 discount.
