North Carolina poet Britt Kaufmann's poetry collection, BELONGING, is a winner of Finishing Line Press' 2010 annual poetry competition. The poems in BELONGING have garnered praise from well-known and respected poets such as Kathryn Stripling Byer and Fred Chappell, both former North Carolina Poet Laureates. Kaufmann's poetry and essays have been published in regional as well as national publications. She is known for her heartfelt yet unsentimental work and the livliness of her performance style. Kaufmann will sign copies of her book, BELONGING after her reading. Kaufmann's reading on April 29. 2011 will be followed also by Burnsville's monthly Eve's Night Out open-mic reading open to all women.
