The Harvest Table Restaurant and Meadowview Farmers' Guild are proud to host the CD release party for our special local musicians, Fire In The Kitchen Admission is FREE! The band will perform and sign copies of their newest CD, Drive the Cold Winter Away The trio of Fire In The Kitchen specializes in presenting lively Appalachian and Celtic music to its audiences. Instrumentation of the ensemble includes: hammered dulcimer, Irish flute, Irish whistles, classical flute, Irish bodhran, guitar, bass, banjo and more. Members of the group are natives of Washington County, VA and still proudly call this area home. The band (as pisctured, left to right) consists of Debbie Shrewsbury,Tammy Martin and Teddy Helton. Fire In The Kitchen has performed at venues such as: Dollywood-Festival of Nations, Bristol Rhythm 'N Roots, The Virginia Highlands’ Festival, The Bristol Paramount Theatre, The Barter Theatre, The Carter Family Fold, Winston-Salem Celtic Festival and many, many more. The group has been featured on Public radio programming “Live in Studio 1A" as well as the PBS program "Song of the Mountains" that is being aired nation wide. The group was honored to have their first CD entitled “An Appalachian Celtic Journey” archived at the Smithsonian Institute in celebration of the Year of Appalachia. Their newest CD, Drive the Cold Winter Away, is a Christmas collection.
