June 8, 9, and 10, 2012: Toe River Studio Tour. Over 100 studios and galleries in and around Burnsville, Spruce Pine, and Bakersville in Mitchell and Yancey Counties are open Friday, June 8 (noon to 4pm), and June 9 & 10, Saturday and Sunday (10am to 6pm), as part of a FREE self-guided tour sponsored by the Toe River Arts Council (TRAC). A meet-the-artists’ reception takes place on Friday, June 8 from 5 to 7 pm at the Spruce Pine TRAC Gallery at 269 Oak Avenue where an exhibit of participants’ work is on display from May 26 through the June 10.
