A Robert Burns Night will be held in Big Stone Gap on Friday, Jan. 21st. WETS’s own Jack Beck, host of Celtic Clanjamfry, presents this annual celebration of Scotland’s greatest poet at Tales of the Lonesome Pine Used Bookstore. This community event starts at 7 and is free, but reservations are needed. Activities include the Piping in of the Haggis, the Toast to the Lasses, and the Immortal Memory. A snack supper of traditional Scottish fare will be served. Reservations are taken at the bookstore at 276-523-5097.

Christmas Open House

A Christmas Open House and Santa's Workshop will be held at the Holston Mountain Artisans Center in Abingdon, Va. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The non-profit craft cooperative is in its 39th year. Demonstrations in tole painting, wood carving, twining, woodworking and more will be offered all day, while you shop for unique gifts, home decor items, and handcrafted Christmas decorations. In the Annex, children can create their own Christmas ornaments.
